Top Iceberg Imagery of 2026
By Newfoundland and Labrador
Every year Newfoundland and Labrador welcomes thousands of visitors of all ages, some younger and some nearly 10,000 years old. 2026 brought hundreds of icebergs to our shores for people to admire and revel at their beauty. We've rounded up some of our favourite iceberg images from this year for your viewing pleasure. Enjoy!
Bonavista
Not the kind of frozen treat you're used to? Discovery Sea Adventures captured this berg that has us craving a different kind of cool.
Salvage
Some views are worth the climb. This sentiment certainly rang true for Marie-Andree Mathieu, who caught the sun rising over the community of Salvage while an iceberg steals the spotlight from offshore.
St. Anthony
Who knew Iceberg Alley had such a romantic side? Our friend Steve Sheppard captured this heart-shaped berg in the waters near St. Anthony.
L’Anse aux Meadows
A thousand years of Viking history and a 10,000-year-old iceberg in a single frame. The kind of thing you can only experience in Newfoundland and Labrador. Right, @onelifejustore?
Twillingate
Up close and personal. In Newfoundland and Labrador, there’s no better way to witness the awe of iceberg season than by cruising alongside these majestic giants on a boat tour, as shown here by Julian Earle.
Cupids
Ever wondered what icebergs look like from a bird's-eye view? Steve Thornhill answered that question with this drone footage of a berg drifting near Cupids.
St. Lewis
Not every giant drifts miles from the shore. Sometimes they pull up a little closer for the perfect view, as shown by @wayoftheroads.
Crow Head
You'd be forgiven for thinking icebergs only come in shades of blue. This one decided to put on a golden-hour glow.
Stiles Cove Path
Their journey may span thousands of kilometers but seeing them from land is every bit as memorable. Newfoundland and Labrador's coastal trails offer plenty of opportunities to spot these frozen visitors. Gord Follett found this iceberg waiting just off the Stiles Cove Path near Pouch Cove.
