Gander Heritage Memorial Park

The beautiful Heritage Memorial Park was designed as a place of quiet thought and contemplation. Visitors can view a number of monuments reflecting the aviation and military history of Gander and the Airport including a life size monument of the heroic NL dog Sgt Gander and his WWII handler, and a granite wall with the names of all the Newfoundland aviators who lost their lives in WWII. The walkways are laid out to mimic the runways at Gander Airport during WWII.
