Moderate to difficult, 13.8-km plus a 6.3-km access trail (one way). A 5- to 8-hour hike from Petty Harbour to Shoal Bay Road (Goulds). Attractions include seabirds, whales, barrens, an abandoned settlement, waterfalls, 18th-century copper mine. An alternate plan is to hike to Motion Head and back -11 km each way from Petty Harbour.
