Parks Canada Red Bay National Historic Site

Red Bay

The Red Bay Basques Whaling Station was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2013. The National Historic site brings you back in time to when Basque Whalers lived and worked at Red Bay. The stories that unfold at Red Bay depict a long ago era of exploration, adventure and profit. NOTE: The interpretation centre is closed to the public at this time, but staff are available to answer questions via email or phone, (709) 920-2142.
