Gros Morne Mountain Trail - Parks Canada Gros Morne National Park

17km strenuous hike climbing 800m to the summit of Gros Morne Mountain (9km-return Approach, 8km Summit loop). 4.5km through boreal forest to the base. 8km Summit loop climbs a steep, rocky gully to an exposed arctic-alpine plateau. Here your effort is rewarded with stunning views of Ten Mile Pond and the Long Range Mountains. The Summit loop requires preparation, check with staff at the Visitor Centre for more info. Summit loop is closed early May to last Friday in June to protect its ecology.
