Cabox Geopark

The geopark spans the Bay of Islands Ophiolite Massifs, Little Port Island Arc Complex, Transported Continental Margin and Ancient Continental Slope of the lower Humber Valley. Often referred to as the Galapagos of Plate Tectonics for the role it played in confirming the theory of plate tectonics. Visit the 3 types of Geosites: geological, ecological and cultural. Some are accessed at roadside stops, by boat, or along the many trails that range from easy walks to multiday backcountry treks.
