Dorset Soapstone Quarry National Historic Site

The Pre-Inuit Soapstone Quarry, is unique in Canada. It is the only known soapstone outcrop in the Northern Hemisphere that preserves evidence of Pre-Inuit vessel quarrying. It has been awarded a Historic Sites and Monuments Board of Canada Plaque, proclaiming its national historic value.
