Port aux Basques Railway Heritage Museum

Located along Route 1 in Channel-Port aux Basques, the Railway Heritage Museum offers visitors an immersive journey into the region’s past, particularly its role as a vital gateway for rail and ferry travel across Newfoundland and Labrador. Open seasonally from June to September, the museum features interpretive exhibits that highlight the stories of railway workers, local legends like Lockie McDougall—known as the "human wind gauge"—and rare artifacts including the Mushrow Astrolabes.
