“Goowiddy” is a Newfoundland term for the low shrubs commonly seen on this trail. Stroll through a mature balsam fir forest that snakes along the coastline of Newman Sound. Keep right at the junction and discover a sandy beach with a small barachois. Catch your breath in the red chair. Level of Difficulty: Moderate to difficult. Length/Distance: 8 km loop. Time: 2.5 - 3.5 hours. Location: Goowiddy Path is located just outside the Visitor Centre, roughly 1km off Route 1 (Trans-Canada Highway).
