A hiking adventure designed for fit and active hikers who like to explore off the beaten path. A knowledgeable local guide leads your adventure, shares Gros Morne’s geological story and identifies unique flora along the way. This backcountry hike takes you through a forested valley, across the boggy Lookout Hills and up a rocky scree to the summit where you can enjoy sweeping views of Bonne Bay, the Long Range Mountains and the Tablelands. 6-8 hrs; 16 km. Opens Mid-June after snow melt.
Conditions
Valid Oct 15, 2023 - Oct 31, 2024.
$450 private guide. A maximum of 6 hikers in group. A booking is required at least 48 hours in advance. This is a challenging off-trail hike requiring participants to have hiking boots and rain gear. Meeting locations at Gros Morne Adventures office in Norris Point at 8:30 am (an additional water taxi fee of $16 return per person applies) or at the Woody Point waterfront at 9:30 am. The hike will be cancelled if weather is inclement.
