Rev. Dr. John Clinch National Historic Site Plaque

This medical and missionary pioneer came to Newfoundland from England in 1775 and later settled in Trinity (1783) where he died. He administered the first smallpox vaccine in North America in 1800. His grave can be seen in the nearby St. Paul's Anglican Church cemetery. More information can be found on Rev. Dr. John Clinch at the Trinity Historical Society Archives.
