Snowshoe to The Spout
A full day of snowshoeing to one of the most magical winter attractions on the Island of Newfoundland. The Spout in winter is a ice volcano! Enjoy a guided adventure over the high barrens of Bay Bulls with specular views of the landscape and coastline. Sit and eat lunch while watching The Spout spray water in the air to form layers of this icy snow cone.
Valid Dec 18, 2020 - Mar 26, 2021. The snowshoe starts on the side of the Bay Bulls highway with a climb to the heights of the open barrens. It is challenging but there's no rush. Crossing the top is all open frozen land that requires skill to cross if weather conditions should change. There is a decent to the coastline that leads to The Spout and that means a climb back up. Distance for this adventure is approximately 17km. Days for the snowshoe are weather dependent.
