Migratory Bird Sanctuary

Birding by Season

On this 1-day guided birding tour, we travel to the easternmost shores of Bay St. George where almost 4,000 acres of wetland is committed to conservation through a Habitat Stewardship Agreement. We visit beautiful dune beaches and peer through a scope at the endangered Piping Plover. We explore a fabulous estuary to look for (Eastern) Willet, Barrow’s Goldeneye, and a rare North American Black-headed Gull colony. In the fall, we view arctic migrants and look for early winter waterfowl.
