St. Lawrence Miners Lunchtin Picnic
During World War II, 3 American naval ships were shipwrecked in a winter storm. Miners from the nearby Newfoundland towns of St. Lawrence and Lawn rushed to the scene to rescue 186 oil-covered sailors. The tours takes people to Chambers Cove to see where the Truxtun was lost and to tell the story of the disaster/rescue. A personalized lunchtin will be packed for you by the Lunchtin Cafe. During the tour we will have lunch on the beach and enjoy this special place. Lunch and a shipwreck story.
