Birding the South Coast Barrens, Cape Ray and vicinity
This 1-day guided birding tour explores an IBA and protected areas at the western edge of the South Coast Barrens. Look for unique songbirds in a preserved boreal forest and peer through a scope at protected ponds in search of brooding waterfowl. Enjoy dune-swept beaches and a sandy Barachois. Keep a lookout for the Piping Plover. Visit seaside habitat that host one of the largest variety of shorebirds on the Island. Spot the Harlequin Duck, Common Eider and Dovekie at coastal areas in the fall
