Birding the South Coast Barrens, Cape Ray and vicinity
This 1-day guided birding tour explores an IBA and protected areas at the western edge of the South Coast Barrens. Enjoy dune-swept beaches and a sandy Barachois. Keep a look out for the Piping Plover. Look for unique songbirds in a preserved boreal forest and peer through a scope at protected ponds in search of brooding waterfowl. Visit seaside habitat that host one of the largest variety of shorebirds on the Island. Spot the Harlequin Duck, Common Eider and Dovekie at coastal areas in the fall

Tour departure time 7:30 a.m. 2019 Tour Departure Dates: Monday, May 27; Monday, June 10; Monday, July 15; Monday, August 12; Monday, September 16, Wednesday, October 9; Sunday, November 3. Advance booking is required. This tour may be combined with other tours for a more complete birding experience of Southwestern Newfoundland.
