East West North Expo 2011

8 Jul 2011

Now in its third year, and continuing to grow, this summer’s Expo highlights some of the best artists, musicians, street entertainers, craftspeople, chefs and buskers from across the entire province. With three different locations, Placentia, Corner Brook and Labrador City as the centres for this year’s travelling festivities, be sure to check out the one nearest to you.

The Expo gets underway on Friday July 15th in Placentia with Corner Brook as the second destination on the calendar running over 4 days from Thursday July 21st to Sunday July 24th. West Street, in the city’s downtown will be transformed into a marketplace where all the local talent will be on display.

With no admission visitors can freely enjoy walking through downtown browsing the booths. There will be Newfoundland made products, souvenirs and art pieces available for purchase at each of the venues. Exhibits will be open from 12:00-8:00 Thursday to Saturday and 12:00-5:00 on Sunday.

Some of the events scheduled for this year include chef demonstrations, a shed party featuring local musicians at several different venues around town, bingo night, barbeques, the East Meets West Cup and the famous ‘Lumberjack Challenge’. Each year the evenings are filled with spectacular entertainment followed by an impressive laser light show, fun for the whole family.

The 2011 Expo rounds up in Labrador City between Friday July 29 and Sunday Jul 31.
