Snow West '12 - named one of Canada's best winter festivals by CTV

 Snow West ’12, set to take place between Wednesday March 21 and Saturday March 24, 2012, is an annual event designed to showcase the outstanding variety of fun winter adventures and evening experiences available for visitors to Western Newfoundland. It has been coordinated by Go Western Newfoundland, Western Newfoundland’s Destination Management Organization, in partnership with the region’s winter tourism industry. Snow West ’12, the showcase for winter experiences in Western Newfoundland, confirms the following fantastic evening events:

  • Snow West Comedy Nights featuring Newfoundland’s own Snook, Trent McClellan and John Sheehan. The laughter kicks off at 7.30pm Friday evening in Rocky Harbour, Gros Morne National Park and 8:00pm Saturday evening in Corner Brook.
  • Juno award winners in 2010 for New Group of the Year The Arkells & Newfoundland’s own The Novaks will be taking the stage on Saturday March 24th for the Corona Snow Session concert at Marble Mountain Resort.

Some of the outdoor activities confirmed for Snow West ’12 include:

  • Ice sculpting demonstrations with traditional outdoor cook up
  • Dog sledding, zip lining, caving & snowshoe tours
  • Introduction to snow kiting
  • Downhill skiing & snowboarding
