Get out on the water. Enjoy a boat tour!

View Source Article

It's hard not to visit St. John's without longing to be out on the water. The stunning scenery of the Atlantic Ocean and the rugged coastline can lure any traveller to hop on board with one of our outstanding boat tour operators.

Two of these tours will give you a chance to explore the picturesque and unique charm of St. John’s. Get an upclose look at The Battery, Fort Amherst, and Signal Hill as you leave St. John’s harbour.

The Lower Battery

Fort Amherst

As you exit through the narrows and further out into the Atlantic Ocean, be prepared for close encounters with humpback whales, puffins, or icebergs (and maybe all three). The waters boast the largest population of humpback whales in the world. When the 10,000 year-old icebergs drift south, these humpback whales migrate north to say hello. Charismatic puffins and elegant seabirds can be found skimming the water and hanging out along the cliffs. You may find yourself in the presence of majestic icebergs, towering high above the water. Newfoundland is only one of two places in the world you can view theses gorgeous natural wonders. What are you waiting for?
