Ches's Fish and Chips
For many years, St. John's was the only place to get the great taste of Ches's Famous Newfoundland Fish and Chips. Now, the town of Gander can also boast ownership of one of the great tastes of Newfoundland. Located in the Fraser Mall, you can't miss the green clapboard storefront as you drive down Airport Boulevard. Inside you'll find the same friendly Ches's atmosphere and the same great food. Fish and Chips, Wings and Chips and the Seafood Platter are all Newfoundland favourites. Ever heard of a Fi and Chi with D and G? It's a Newfoundland delicacy. Fish and Chips resting on a bed of authentic Newfoundland dressing and covered in delicious gravy. Add an extra treat with fried onions . . . . you won't believe how scrumptious it is. And don't forget desserts. All Ches's stores have their own bakers preparing everything from huge lemon meringue pies to cookies featuring a delicious sampling of Newfoundland berries. Ches's might be new to Gander but it's a Newfoundland tradition more than 50 years in the making.
