Joe Batt's Point Walking Trail
Take a stroll along the North Atlantic Coastline to see the Great Auk statue that commemorates the now extinct Great Auk bird species. Pass by local gardens, the unique Long Art Studio and various bird watching blinds. The trail is 4.6km round trip and starts at the Etheridge’s Point Park that includes a playground and ball filed. Proper footwear is recommended. Before you begin your stroll, drop down to the water to see the witch’s footprint and to gain some local folklore.

This trail offers scenic coastal views, with icebergs often visible during season; moderate hike: 4.6km return trip. A monument to the now-extinct Great Auk is located towards the end of the trail. Also, one of the Shorefast Foundation's artist studios, the Long Studio, is located on this trail, as well as traditional gardens, still in use. At that start of the trail, there is a playground, picnic area and ball park, as well as public washroom facilities.
