Apart from the boundaries established pursuant to the Canada-Newfoundland and Labrador Atlantic Accord Implementation Act, which include the line established pursuant to the 2002 award of the arbitration tribunal concerning the delimitation of portions of the offshore areas between Newfoundland and Labrador and Nova Scotia, there are no agreed boundaries between the offshore areas of Newfoundland and Labrador and the Government of Canada, the Provinces of Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island or Quebec or the Nunavut Territory, and no such boundaries have been established under statute, regulation or agreement. The Government of Newfoundland and Labrador has made these facts known to Google.

  • A 540-km wilderness coastal hiking and walking trail that traces the eastern edge of the Avalon Peninsula from Topsail Beach to Trepassey passing directly through our capital city, St. John's. Entry points exist in all communities along the trail, 265-km of which is fully developed. Guidebooks and detailed map sets can be purchased from the association office or through the website. Family and life memberships are fully tax receipted and help develop and maintain the trail. Snowshoes and skis are frequently used on and around the trail paths throughout the winter.
  • 5.2-km trail between Calvert and Ferryland. Allow 1.5-2 hours. Easy. Attractions include offshore islands, meadows, cobble beaches, old railway route, stone church, easy family walking.
  • 5.5-km trail between Ferryland and Aquaforte. Allow 2-3 hours. Easy/moderate. Attractions include Colony of Avalon, lighthouse, picnicking, cobble beach, waterfall.
