Where truth is funnier than fiction
People laughing in Newfoundland and LabradorSome of the funniest things in the world are true, although most of that that humour was probably borne out less-than-funny times.

So it makes sense, then, that some of the funniest people in the world are the very same way. True, honest, authentic to the core – and able to look at whatever life throws them and keep on smiling.

These are the kind of people that tell it like it is, or at least how they see it. In a blunt, bold, no-bones-about-it sort of way.

Just the kind of people who could conjure up names like Happy Adventure, Tickle Cove, Ha Ha Bay, and Hearts Delight. Who can turn a phrase a thousand delightful different ways. And who can defuse almost any situation with nothing but the artful dash of humour.

The kind who can hold court for hours, without the slightest inclination of just how funny they really are, seemingly unaware of the spontaneous eruptions of laughter, sheer amusement, and pure joy that they leave in their wake.

People with naturally impeccable comedic timing, passed down the generations from hilarious grandparents, aunts and uncles, and brothers and sisters – each dinnertime gathering a stage where verbal jousting is practically a family tradition, a rite of passage.

Delivering the kind of funny that can lift your spirit as well as your soul. The kind of funny you crave when times are tough. The very kind that carries you through. The kind of funny, and the kind of people, who will, perhaps, inspire the world to tell it like it is, and laugh about it afterwards.
