 Newfoundland and Labrador lies between the 46th and 61st parallels, with the bulk of our island below the 50th parallel – the same latitude as Seattle, Washington and Paris, France. Stretching out into the Atlantic Ocean, we’re closer to Europe than any other place on this continent with London being only 3880 kilometres away. In some cases, we are closer to Europe than parts of our own country. |
